Natural science: Is climate change real?

Updated: Oct 10, 2019

We face uncertain climatic future. It's critical we plan for it.

Everyday our headlines feature something on #climate change. Usually #emotive, highly #inflammatory and #politically charged, most focus on the need to stop climate change - a ludicrous idea when you consider the data.

The climate is changing irrespective of our #input - the data is overwhelming. While we may have sped up the process, all we can hope to achieve is to perhaps buy ourselves more time in which to #adapt to it.

We face an #uncertain climatic #future. Climate change is here to stay. It's critical we #adapt to it. We need to accept that climate change is happening. It’s not going to go away. Like all things in existence, our climate is in constant #change and as #Darwin puts it, it’ll come down to the following:

“It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able to adapt to and to adjust best to the changing environment in which it finds itself.”

As a #species we need to be focusing on developing solutions to adapt to the new #evolving climate and do our best to #model possible scenarios and start developing #technological solutions today.
