The Shawshank Redemption: How leaders are made and not born.

Updated: Oct 10, 2019

In the Shawshank Redemption Andy shows exceptional leadership and improves the lives of his inmates through sacrifice.

Sometimes in #life we find ourselves in #situations we don’t expect. Sometimes they’re better than we #predict, and other times they’re not.

In Frank Darabont’s Shawshank Redemption, Andy finds himself in prison after being convicted of murder. Instead of denying his situation and succumbing to the cruelty of the prison system, Andy sets about #improving #conditions for himself and his fellow inmates.

While many of us will probably never find ourselves in prison, there will be many circumstances that will test our #character and our #resolve. In these times we can either fall to our knees, give up and accept the suffering, or we can fight, stand tall and #inspire others in the #process.

To lead others is to show the way in an attempt to #improve the world in someway. Just as Andy helped #empower his fellow inmates, leaders can also inspire and develop those around them by using the #skills they already have.
